Why We Reimagined REIcon: Introducing the Summit Series

Bigger isn’t always better.
For years, the real estate conference industry has operated under the same assumption: the more attendees, the more successful the event.
Packed ballrooms. Hundreds of people. Standing-room-only sessions.
There’s certainly value in that.
In fact, that’s exactly what REIcon became.
Last year, we were humbled to host sold-out events filled with hundreds of investors eager to learn, network, and grow. The energy in the room was incredible, and it confirmed something we’ve believed from the beginning:
Canada is hungry for high-quality real estate education.
But as we reflected on last year’s event, we kept asking ourselves one question:
How do we create an even better experience?
The answer wasn’t adding more seats.
It was removing them.
Introducing the REIcon Summit Series
This September, we’re launching an entirely new experience.
The REIcon Summit Series is intentionally designed to be smaller, more personal, and significantly more interactive than a traditional conference.
Rather than hosting hundreds of attendees in one massive ballroom, we’re limiting attendance to just 100 investors.
Why?
Because transformation happens differently than inspiration.
Anyone can sit in the back row of a conference.
Not everyone gets the opportunity to ask questions directly to experienced investors, continue conversations over coffee, or build relationships with the people sitting beside them.
That’s exactly what this event was designed to create.
Why Smaller Creates More Value
There’s a common misconception that a larger event automatically delivers more value.
In reality, some of the most impactful conversations happen between sessionsânot on stage.
When you’re surrounded by a smaller group of highly engaged investors, something changes.
Conversations become longer.
Questions become deeper.
Networking becomes intentional.
Instead of trying to find someone in a crowd of hundreds, you’ll spend two days getting to know people who share the same goals, challenges, and ambitions.
Many of the best investment opportunities don’t begin with a keynote.
They begin with a conversation.
Built Around Real Estate Investors at Every Stage
Whether you’re purchasing your very first rental property or you’re actively scaling a portfolio, the Summit Series was built to provide practical education you can immediately apply.
This year’s event features two specialized summits, allowing attendees to choose the experience that best aligns with their investment goals.
Residential Summit
The Residential Summit focuses on building a strong investing foundation.
Throughout the day, you’ll explore topics including:
- Developing your investment strategy
- Creating your ideal buy box
- Finding opportunities in today’s market
- Analyzing and negotiating deals
- Optimizing acquisitions
- Scaling a residential portfolio
- Planning long-term exit strategies
Whether you’re just beginning or refining your investing approach, you’ll leave with practical frameworksânot just theory.
Multifamily Summit
For investors ready to think bigger, the Multifamily Summit takes a deep dive into commercial and multifamily investing.
Sessions are designed to explore:
- Developing an investment thesis
- Finding off-market opportunities
- Underwriting multifamily deals
- Performing due diligence
- Asset optimization
- Portfolio scaling
- Exit planning
These are the strategies experienced investors use every dayâand the conversations that rarely happen in large conference settings.
More Than Education
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we received from previous REIcon attendees was simple:
“I wish I had more time to connect with people.”
That’s why networking isn’t an afterthought this year.
Each summit begins with an exclusive Kick-Off Mixer, creating an opportunity to meet fellow investors before the educational sessions even begin.
Instead of exchanging business cards as people rush out the door, you’ll have dedicated time to build genuine relationships with investors, industry professionals, and potential partners.
Those conversations often become the most valuable takeaway from the entire weekend.
Quality Over Quantity
The decision to limit attendance wasn’t made because we expected less demand.
It was made because we wanted to deliver more value.
Every attendee should feel like they have access.
Access to speakers.
Access to experienced investors.
Access to meaningful conversations.
Access to opportunities.
When everyone can participate, everyone benefits.
